Just wondering what you guys think of these Mics compared to say a JT-30 or CR Element Mic.

I've built mics around them.  Not terrible, but not the equal of either a good MC151/MC127 or a good CM/CR. The only advantage they have is the tiny element, if someone demands a really small mic.

I just picked one up from ebay on a lark.  I plan on installing a volume control and using it as a carry around extra.  Greg, what type of pot would you recomend?  I thought maybe a 2 meg, as the printing on the box says it is a 50k impedence.  Must have a transformer on it.

It is a dynamic/magnetic element. Use 100K or 250K pot.

Greg,  I used a 250k pot and the little mic is a real killer.  I have to agree that it is not as full as my Shure/RCA mic, but it has a real character of its own.  Because it is so hot, a volume control is surely needed. I call it my Little Black Blimp.
