A86A transformer

Hi again !
Does anyone have experience with the old Shure A86A transformer?
Is there difference in gain if i compare it with Shure A95UF transformer?

I can answer only 1/2 of your question - the A95UF spec is +22dB for low to high. I couldn't find a spec for the A86A but it was cabled and that is enough to explain the difference in model #. I suspect it is the same.

I DID find an article on the Shure site

http://shure.custhelp.com/cgi-bin...RleHQ9bWF0Y2hpbmcgdHJhbnNmb3JtZXI*&p_li=&p_topview=1

that says "about 20dB".

Thank you for your answer. The reason for this question is that i can't use a A95UF if i have a screw on connector on my micshell. Sure i can use a transformer from JT-30 shop and throw it in there but my Kinder antifeedback peaks all the time, no matter how i turn the knobs, so it seems that the transformer from JT-30 shop have to much gain. Really dont know,
if that's the reason, it's just my thoughts.

If you have a screw-on connector you almost certainly have  a high impedance mic. Low impedance mics are almost always wired with XLR connectors. And if you're connecting that to the AFB+, that's a high impedance input. So I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to accomplish.

Sorry for my unclear description on this.
I have a mic shell with a screw on conector which i think is the best connection to a mic. I have also a medium element i want  in that shell.
I have now understood that the A86A transformer don't  have single end
connection on both endings, which i was looking for. I assume that there is not such a thing out there. And my thought about the gainvalues on the transformers to reduce the peak on the pedal is only an idea because i can't mesure it to know.

Peter
