Please keep posts "on topic"

In the thread "What's the Greatest Blues Song", a recent addition to the "thread" was "I just ordered a cool new chromatic harp!"

No big deal, and certainly not intended to embarrass the poster, but it gives me an excuse to post a gentle, respectful note to all - let's try to keep posts on-topic. If you have something new to say, no problem - just start a new thread.

I spent years as an administrator/moderator of another forum, and this was/is a perennial problem. It just takes occasional reminders and education. As the forum grows and ages, there is more and more value in the saved content. People will search on "what's the best blues song" or "what's the best chromatic". Hopefully the search results will be very relevant for them. To achieve this takes two important things - first, when you start a thread, set its title to something meaningful. Second, when you reply/add within a thread, please do so only if your post has to do with the original topic. Otherwise, just start a new thread!

This will be very helpful to the current and future usefulness of the site.

Thanks!

My Honda Accord has this rattle when it idles.  Anybody know what that might be?

Sorry Greg, couldn't resist...  Wink

Actually, the correct thing to do is to start a new thread with the headline OT (short for off-topic).  The more threads, the better!

If it is harp-related it doesn't need to be prepended with "OT" - I just want us to try to keep individual threads on their original topic.

OT would be appropriate for the thread we'll use to fix your Honda.
