TransformerI have a CR 99E86 which is medium impedance element and measures about 300. The problem is, when i hook up a transformer, and i have tried several, the element becomes too hot and feedback very easy. The transformers only seem to work great on low-impedance elements.
Any suggestions?

That is the problem with those elements. Very hard to find an appropriate transformer. Note that the Shure A95 IMT's have dual low impedance inputs - one for like 15 ohms and one for 150 - or thereabout. I forget the specs but you can look them up. I use the higher of the two in any case, but they are at least a LITTLE better for med impedance elements. In general, I simply avoid medium impedance elements. We all learn by buying them and realizing our mistake!
